Operation Northleigh

Operation Northleigh is the criminal investigation and police response into the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017, which resulted in the deaths of 72 people and destroyed 129 flats that people called home.

The investigation is focused on companies and organisations suspected of offences including:

  • Corporate manslaughter
  • Breaches of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Fraud

It also involves the investigation of individuals for offences including:

  • Gross negligence manslaughter
  • Breaches of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Fraud 
  • Misconduct in public office
