I'm currently doing some historical research on the General Strike of 1926 and the National Archives catalogue has identified four files which are still held by the Metropolitan Police. The catalogue listing says I am to contact the department to request access. The files are: MEPO 38/80 - Foreign influences on the General Strike: reports MEPO 38/81 - Foreign influences on the General Strike: reports MEPO 38/82 - Foreign influences on the General Strike: reports MEPO 38/83 - General Strike: emergency regulations
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
I am pleased to inform you that MEPO files 38/81, 38/82 and 38/83 have already been reviewed and the partial disclosed information is held on the MPS publication website. Please see below link for each MEPO file.

Therefore, this information has been identified as being accessible via other means as it is already published. Where information is already in the public domain the MPS are not required to re-publish the data; instead public authorities are required to direct you to the information, which we have done in this instance. This action is in accordance with Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act.
In regards to MEPO 38/80, this file was previously requested under FOIA in 2021 and partially disclosed. However, given the time that has elapsed, a further review has now been conducted. Following the latest review, it has been decided that a partial disclosure is still relevant. Therefore, some data in the documentation has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure.
