Q1 - I would like to know how many Met Police officers have criminal records.
As of the 11 November 2024, 243 serving MPS police officers had criminal records. These were comprised of 148 police officers with convictions and 95 officers with cautions.
It should be noted that the MPS employs over 34,000 police officers, including those in the Metropolitan Special Constabulary. The number of serving police officers with criminal records accordingly represents less than 0.8 percent of the police officers serving with the MPS.

Q2 - How many disciplinary actions have the Met Police been able to prove against officers.
Answer: The MPS has published a large amount of information, in response to requests for information, about police officers subject of investigation for alleged misconduct. This includes the outcome of each investigation and details of any subsequent disciplinary action taken. I have provided a series of links to this information below.

Q3 - The highest and lowest paid officer in the Met Police.
The highest paid police officer in the MPS holds the rank of Commissioner of the MPS. The lowest paid police officer holds the rank of constable. Please note that the MPS also employs volunteer police officers in the Metropolitan Special Constabulary. Volunteer police officers do not receive a salary.
Q4 - The average time the Met Police takes to investigate car theft crime.
The MPS does not hold the average time taken to investigate car theft crime. The requested information cannot accordingly be provided to you as it is not held by the MPS. The MPS may however, be able to produce, via an amended request for information, the period that vehicle theft offence investigations have taken to be concluded. Timeframes would have to be provided to answer to this part of your request for information.

Maintaining Public Trust in the MPS
Securing and maintaining the trust of the community is integral to the principle of policing by consent and to continue to do so, the MPS recognises that its staff must act with professionalism and integrity. The MPS treats each occasion when an allegation is made about the conduct of its staff extremely seriously and will fully investigate each incident to determine whether the conduct of that member of staff has breached the standards of professional behaviour. Where the conduct of staff is proven to have fallen below the standards of behaviour expected, the MPS will take robust action to ensure that its staff are held to account and that lessons are learnt from each case. Any instance where the conduct of our staff is alleged to have fallen below the standards of behaviour expected is treated extremely seriously by the MPS.
