Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Retail Crime - Golders Green Road and Cricklewood Lane:
Intelligence analysis has identified retail crime as a key generator of violence in Childs Hill, as well as contributing to anti-social behaviour on the ward.
Your local team will use a range of tactics in collaboration with local partners to drive down this crime type.

Officers have been conducting enhanced patrols in the areas most commonly affected by retail crime, including targeted plain clothes patrols. New technology is being utilised to identify and arrest prolific offenders. Post conviction orders are also routinely being sought in order to manage the risk of reoffending. Shops suspected of being involved in handling of stolen goods have also been targeted in order to reduce the market for stolen goods.

Motor Vehicle crime - This has been identified as an area of significant concern to the local community. This priority includes both theft from and theft of motor vehicles.

SNT have been conducting targeted patrols in areas identified as having a high incidence of theft from motor vehicle offences. Every M/V crime report is scrutinised and reassurance and crime prevention advice is offered to victims. Analysis of the offences has identified certain vehicles being targeted. Officers are conducting leaflet drops with assistance from Barnet VPC especially focused on owners of at risk vehicles.

SNT will be conducting high visibility patrols, utilising stop and search where grounds exist as well as gathering intelligence to target and catch offenders. SNT will also conduct weapons sweeps in the area to reduce the risk of harm to the community. SNT will also look to issue Community Protection Notices. SNT will lease with LBB regarding the potential for a barrier to be placed at the entrance of the Ridge Road Car Park, as well as using the Barnet Volunteer Police Cadets to clean up the litter within the car park

Ongoing work to reduce recorded offences and target offenders.
This ward priority has been agreed as continuing into 2025, Police have been conducting reassurance patrols in the area and VPC conducted a weapons sweep in recent days.
