The London borough of Barnet is in north London and is made up of 24 wards. It is the second largest London borough by population and the fourth largest by area. Much of the borough is within the Metropolitan Green Belt. It has a large number of parks and open spaces, including parts of Hampstead Heath, Hampstead Heath Extension and Golders Hill Park. The borough has eight local nature reserves and is jointly responsible for the Brent Reservoir, also known as the Welsh Harp, which is a site of special scientific interest.
