Summary

The brief circumstances of this case are that during an IIP audit it was identified that between 30 August 2019 and 1 July 2023, the former officer carried out a series of searches across Metropolitan Police Service systems relating to his home address and surrounding area. These searches were undertaken without lawful policing purpose, operational necessity, or any other legitimate policing authority.

In doing so, it is alleged that Former DC Mohammed Abdullah has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:

• Discreditable conduct
• Confidentiality

Former DC Mohammed Abdullah was in attendance for these proceedings. He was represented at the hearing by his Federation Representative.

Decision

The Chair, Commander Beehag-Fisher, found the allegations proven and that Former DC Mohammed Abdullah had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour at the level of Gross Misconduct.

Former DC Abdullah would have been dismissed without notice was he still serving and will be placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
