Dates of hearing: 27 May - 03 June 2026
The Panel considered all evidence provided by the Appropriate Authority and from the Officer, where it was alleged:
(i) Officer A claimed to have completed tasks and checks assigned to her by her senior officer, when she knowingly had not completed them, breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Honesty & Integrity.
(ii) Officer A did not make efficient and effective use of policing resources to complete basic checks, records and retain details in relation to a reported crime. It was alleged Officer A thereby undermined an effective primary investigation, breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Exercise of Duties & Responsibilities.
(iii) Officer A signed a witness statement of a victim using her own signature, breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Honesty & Integrity.
Having taken all of this into consideration, the Panel determined that all allegations listed above were found proven. The Panel concluded that Officer A's conduct individually and cumulatively amounted to gross misconduct. The Panel determined that the only appropriate sanction on outcome upon Officer A was dismissal without notice.
