The dataset relates to the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, which is sometimes referred to as Clare's Law.
Under the scheme the public have Right to Ask whether their current or former partner has a history of domestic violence. Upon receipt of such a request the MPS will:
The scheme also has a Right to Know element. This is a police initiated proactive disclosure.
The downloadable data includes statistics on the number applications made under the Right to Know, the Right to Ask or both. Table one shows the number of applications and table two shows the number of disclosure made. The data is broken down by year any covers the years 2018 through to 2025.
