Street Violence – Putney High Street. Met Police Summer Crime plan to run from 30th June for three months until October. Our focus is on making our High Street safer, supporting our business community and providing an increased police presence to prevent and reduce crime and ASB
Issued 07 July 2025
We will be tasking officers to directly patrol the High Street and Putney Exchange areas during peak retail hours. We will continue to build on our existing relationship with Positively Putney, the local authority, community groups and business networks to address local crime and ASB concerns. Our teams are already engaging with local residents and identifying ASB issues such as begging and the continued misuse of electric bikes and scooters. Our officers will continue their focus on Op Retail by using shared data to identify offenders and disrupt activity. Working with youth services to identify young people involved in violent street crime has proved positive with a number of engagement programmes organised for the duration of the upcoming summer holidays. We are an active member of Pubwatch whereby we attend quarterly meetings to discuss ongoing licensing / Night Time Economy issues (NTE).

Concerns were raised by the community about burglaries occurring in Enterprise Way and surrounding area.
Issued 07 July 2025
Our Dedicated Ward Officers have performed an increase in targeted patrols over the last three months within the vicinity but not specifically to Enterprise Way. This is to anticipate the potential widening of offending to the proximity of Enterprise Way and nearby side streets. Officers have used analysis data to adapt their shifts in order to be patrolling at the relevant offending times.. Crime prevention advice is delivered by our PCSOs via home visits and cocooning neighbours of those victim to burglary. With the increased use of MetEngage we are now able to provide regular crime updates to subscribers which in turn is helping to continue reduce the number of burglary offences which has been falling for 15 months.
