Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Violence against the Person
Southfields has long been the safest ward on Wandsworth borough and has no specific violence related concerns. Without taking this for granted, the priority is to keep Southfields as safe as it presently is.

In line with the governments Neighbourhood Guarantee, Southfields has two DWOs as well as a PCSO. The officers arewell known and respected within the ward. They will continue to engage with communities within the ward which includes the Southfields Grid Residents Association and Southfields Business forum. The ward has two secondary schools and benefits from a Dedicated Child & Young person officer (DWO-CYP) who provides ongoing education and crime prevention advice to pupils.

Motor Vehicle Crime
There has been a series of theft of radar sensors from vehicles across the borough though there has been a significant number of offences within Southfields ward. In addition, due to the residential nature of the ward, parked vehicles are at increased risk of been targeted.

There is continued occurences of theft of sensors from vehicles in Southfields. Foot and cycle patrols are being conducted across the ward with positive interventions such as stop search being utilised where reasonable grounds exist. Intelligence and analysis of crime data along with the use of predictive crime mapping is being used to to identify vulnerable locations and direct patrols.
Crime prevention advice is being provided by reassurance visits to repeat offenders whilst regular engagements such as Cuppa with a Copper remain popular. Met Engage is now fully operational. Officers are utilising the platform to provide operational updates to subscribers

Anti-social Behaviour
To reduce ASB / low level offending in the Southfield LT / Replingham Road area.

There has been pro-active engagement with the homeless community who are perceived to be responsible for urination, begging and low level shoplifting.We are working with charities and council services (SPEAR) to provide provision and support. We will use ASB legislation for repeat offenders leading to enforcable Criminal Behaviour Orders where necessary and / or appropriate. Presently we are in liaison with retail managers and local businesses to identify and arrest repeat offenders.
