Crimes and priorities

  • Our priorities
  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Priority 1 - Drug related gang violence
This priority is aimed at reducing the street robberies in and around the Winstanley Estate area. In particular, any streets or public greens such as York Gardens which serve as a thoroughfare for commuters egressing from Clapham Junction who may find themselves as victims of personal robbery, in particular during the hours of darkness later in the year.
Ongoing patrols where our late turn shifts allow serve as a good point to deal with this.
In addition, utilising support from other resources and teams such as the new Neighbourhood Tasking Team, and the Territorial Support Group will assist us in dealing with such issues.

    Issued 08 July 2026

    Action taken:

To address drug-related gang violence and the associated risk of street robbery within the area, officers will conduct regular high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in identified hotspot locations, including York Gardens and Christ Church Gardens.
Patrol activity will be focused on disrupting robbery offenders, gathering community intelligence, and providing reassurance to residents and members of the public. Officers will conduct stop-and-search activity where lawful grounds exist, engaged with individuals suspected of involvement in gang-related criminality, and carried out regular checks of areas known to facilitate drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.
Joint operations will be undertaken to increase police presence within identified hotspot areas and provide additional support. Intelligence gathered will be used to inform deployment plans, identify emerging crime patterns, and support ongoing investigations into robbery and drug-related offences.
Patrols in York Gardens and Christ Church Gardens will be conducted to reduce offending, safeguard potential victims, and maintain public confidence in policing within the local community.

    Actioned 07 October 2026

  • Priority:

Priority 2 – Drugs and associated ASB
Across the Falconbrook Ward, we have a large problem with Anti-Social Behaviour where Drugs are the precursor.
This is not bespoken to one particular area of our ward, instead it is found to exist in multiple areas across the BCU
DWO’s will map out each crime using Met Insights / PlanWeb, and using this data, we will be able to work out hotspots and as such, co-ordinate patrols effectively.
When at each hotspot, and circumstance permitting, officers will make good use of Stop and Search, and where applicable, good use of the information sharing agreement with the council may assist in dealing with those most troublesome.
ASB comes in many form - such as, noise disturbances from addresses engaged in drug dealing, loitering in and around these areas thus putting neighbours in fear of harm, urination / defecation in stairwells and other public access areas of buildings, graffiti. The list is non exhaustive.
Where we identify addresses that are causing ASB issues and where drugs are the nucleus, we can use ASB powers to good use - such as Closure Orders under Section 80 of the ASB Act of 2014.

    Issued 08 July 2026

    Action taken:

Dedicated Ward Officers will use crime reports, intelligence and mapping systems to identify hotspots for drug-related anti-social behaviour across Falconbrook Ward. High-visibility patrols will be conducted in these areas to deter offending, reassure residents, and gather intelligence relating to drug use and dealing.
Where lawful grounds exist, officers will make use of stop and search powers and take positive action against those involved in criminality. Officers will also work closely with Wandsworth Council, housing providers and partner agencies to tackle persistent ASB and identify suitable enforcement opportunities. Where addresses are found to be at the centre of ongoing drug-related nuisance and disorder, consideration will be given to the use of anti-social behaviour legislation, including Closure Orders where appropriate.

    Actioned 07 October 2026

  • Priority:

    Priority 3 – Knife Crime
The involvement of weapons particularly knives when offenders are committing crime within the ward is a concern raised by the community. Utilising various methods including the use of stop and search and proactive officers we aim to reduce this.

    Issued 08 July 2026

    Action taken:

Police will carry out targeted high-visibility patrols and intelligence-led operations in areas identified as knife crime hotspots. Officers will use proactive policing tactics, including stop and search where appropriate and in line with legislation, to identify and deter offenders, recover weapons, and disrupt criminal activity. We will also work with partners and local communities to gather information, address concerns, and reduce the risk of knife-related violence within the ward.
