Public Order related offences
Issued 08 July 2026
Public order related offences will be addressed as a priority through a proactive, intelligence-led, and partnership-based approach focused on prevention, enforcement, and community engagement. Key actions include increasing high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations during peak times, using crime and incident data to target resources effectively, and carrying out coordinated operations to deter antisocial and disorderly behaviour.
Strong partnerships with local authorities, businesses, schools, community organisations, and other relevant agencies will be maintained to identify emerging issues, share intelligence, and deliver joint problem-solving initiatives. Early intervention with repeat offenders and individuals at risk of causing public disorder will be supported through appropriate diversionary, safeguarding, and enforcement measures.
Public confidence will be strengthened by encouraging the reporting of public order incidents, providing timely responses to community concerns, and maintaining regular engagement with residents and stakeholders. Enforcement activity will be proportionate, consistent, and focused on those whose behaviour has the greatest impact on community safety.
Performance will be monitored through regular analysis of incident trends, outcomes, and community feedback to ensure that resources remain focused on reducing public order offences, improving public safety, and creating safer, more resilient communities

ASB and Drug related offences during the summer nights
Issued 08 July 2026
During the summer period, reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug-related offences will be a key operational priority. Activity will focus on increasing high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations during peak evening and night time hours to deter offending, reassure the public, and provide a rapid response to incidents.
Targeted enforcement will be supported by intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting drug supply and associated criminality. Officers will work closely with partner agencies, local authorities, businesses, and community groups to identify emerging issues, share intelligence, and coordinate problem-solving initiatives.
Additional measures will include proactive engagement with young people and vulnerable individuals, the use of appropriate enforcement powers where necessary, and regular monitoring of crime trends to ensure resources are directed to areas of greatest risk. This coordinated approach aims to improve community safety, reduce crime and disorder, and enhance public confidence throughout the summer evenings
