Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Shoplifting

Identify and target criminals stealing from local businesses.
Conduct regular patrols around frequently targeted stores.
Work with stores to identify persistent offenders.
Work with colleagues in our Volume Crime Team to identify habitual offenders and arrest them.
Utilise ASB Powers to to further enforce against habitual offenders.
Identify persistent offenders and seek Criminal Behaviour Orders on conviction.
Regularly liaise with staff in venues which are being targeted.
Provide crime prevention advice, where appropriate, to support shops that are subject to shoplifting.

Personal theft

Identifying hotspots for personal theft - this includes a range of acquisitive crime such as parcel thefts, pickpocketing, theft from motor vehicles and distraction thefts.
Identify priority areas for patrol based on analysis of crimes.
Provide crime prevention advice to keep valuable safe.
Support secondary investigations by identifying CCTV and other evidence and arresting offenders.
