Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Violent Crime - Violent crime remains a top priority for the Barnes Safer Neighbourhood Team, specifically VAWG related offences and violence targeting school children around school finish times. Concerns were also raised about potential incidents around Hammersmith Bridge.

Targeted patrols during school finish times in areas known for issues, PCSO's have conducted visits to local schools to speak with students to raise awareness regarding personal safety.
Crime Prevention advice to be given to Residents in relation to theft and robbery, with use of Met Engage to disseminate crime prevention information.
Patrols continue to be conducted in area around Lonsdale Road/Castelnau area

Anti-Social Behaviour - During January PLG meeting, it was agreed with residents that ASB would remain a ward priority. Particular concern was expressed around anti-social behaviour on Castelnau and around Hammersmith Bridge. Both areas see high footfall and have a lot of people passing through and there has been previous incidents around anti-social behaviour in these locations. Recent reports of ASB at bus stop on Castelnau affecting businesses.

Officers will continue to conduct regular patrols of anti-social behaviour hotspots. Engagement with local councillors and partners regarding issues raised by residents. PCSOs tasked with community engagement activity to speak with local residents directly and better understand concerns.

Burglary - With burglary offences continuing to affect local residents, it was decided at the January PLG meeting that burglary would remain a ward priority. Offences have been recorded within the ward, with residents concerned about continued offences.
