  • Priority:

VAWG ( Violence against women and Girls )

    Issued 08 June 2026

    Action taken:

As part of our Valentine's Ward Priority and in direct response to the strategic objectives set by Commissioner Mark Rowley and Commander Stuart Bell, officers will be coordinating a comprehensive Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) awareness event throughout the ward. Our team will establish visible engagement points in key community locations, including shopping areas, train station , and community centres, where officers will distribute informational materials highlighting support services, reporting mechanisms, and early warning signs of domestic abuse and violence. We will be working in partnership with local VAWG support organizations to ensure survivors have direct access to specialist advice and resources. Officers will conduct targeted patrols in identified hotspot areas while also delivering briefings to local businesses, licensed premises, and community groups about their role in safeguarding vulnerable individuals. This coordinated approach reflects our commitment to making the ward safer for women and girls, ensuring that everyone knows how to recognize, report, and respond to VAWG, and that help is available and accessible to those who need it.

    ASB (Loitering, Drugs and Begging)

    Issued 08 June 2026

    Action taken:

Valentines SNT will continue to proactively patrol known hotspot areas where anti-social behaviour, including loitering, drug use and begging, has been reported. Officers will engage with individuals involved, signposting them to relevant support services where appropriate. We will work closely with partner agencies and the local authority to address the root causes of ASB and take enforcement action where necessary to ensure residents feel safe in their community.

  • Priority:

    Speeding Vehicles

    Issued 08 June 2026

    Action taken:

Valentines SNT will address the issue of speeding vehicles by conducting regular speed enforcement operations across the ward, focusing on roads identified as problematic by local residents. We will work in partnership with the Road Safety team and the local authority to explore traffic calming measures where appropriate. Community engagement and education will also form part of our approach to encourage responsible driving behaviour.

  • Priority:

    Theft of and from Vehicles

    Issued 08 June 2026

    Action taken:

Officers in Valentine’s Ward are currently focusing on the ward priority of tackling theft of and from vehicles through increased patrols in identified hotspot areas, particularly during evenings and weekends. We continue to work closely with the community to gather intelligence and take swift, effective action against offenders. Residents are encouraged to take simple crime prevention measures such as removing valuables from sight, ensuring all doors and windows are securely locked, and parking in well-lit areas with CCTV where possible. Items such as sat-navs, mobile phones, bags, and loose change should never be left visible, as they can attract thieves. Additional security measures like steering wheel locks are recommended, and valuable property should be registered on Immobilise. If any suspicious behaviour around vehicles is observed, it should be reported via 101, or 999 in an emergency. By working together, we can help reduce vehicle crime and keep our community safe.
