Action taken:
Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team is committed to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) by increasing engagement with residents, businesses, community groups, and partner agencies. Officers will conduct regular awareness events, provide crime prevention advice, and focus patrols in identified hotspot areas to improve safety and public confidence. We encourage victims and witnesses to report incidents so that appropriate action can be taken and support provided.

Priority 2: Cycling and E-Scooters on Public Footways
Action taken:
Concerns have been raised regarding cyclists and e-scooter riders using pedestrian footways within Ilford Town Centre, causing safety risks to pedestrians. The Safer Neighbourhood Team will conduct high-visibility patrols, engage with riders, provide education around road safety legislation, and where appropriate take enforcement action against those riding irresponsibly. Priority 3: Drug Dealing and Anti-Social Behaviour - St Mary's Road and Connaught Road
Action taken:
Conduct regular high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in and around St Mary's Road and Connaught Road to deter drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.
Identify and target hotspot locations through intelligence-led policing and information received from residents and partner agencies.
Carry out stop and search activity where lawful grounds exist, with a focus on disrupting drug-related activity.
Work with local authority partners, housing providers, and community organisations to address environmental factors contributing to anti-social behaviour.
Encourage residents and businesses to report incidents promptly via 101, online reporting, or Crimestoppers, providing detailed information such as descriptions, times, locations, and vehicle registrations where available.
Conduct engagement visits with local residents and businesses to gather community concerns and provide crime prevention advice.
Monitor repeat offenders and work with partner agencies to pursue appropriate enforcement and intervention opportunities.
Review progress regularly and provide updates to the community through ward panel meetings and Met Engage.
