Criminal Damage Offences
Issued 25 July 2026
Criminal Damage Offences - The ward, at the end of last year, witnessed a link series of Arsons whereby an offender was targeting RING doorbell cameras of private and residential premises and their intent was unknown. The team worked hard to target the offender who was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple Arson offences. In the last two months, there appears to have been an increase in offences again whereby doorbells are being targeted and instead of fire being used, this time spray paint is being used. The team are working hard to target the offending due to the significant impact it has been having on local residents and communities.

Theft Offences
Issued 25 July 2026
Theft Offences - This priority has been created as a wider net to target various offences which fall under Theft. This would include Theft of Motor Vehicle, Theft from Motor Vehicle and also Theft - Shoplifting offences. On the ward there has always been a significant challenge in regards to shoplifting offences, whereby offenders target stores in the locality and sell on their goods to others in the community. The local team have targeted the purchasers of these items and have conducted various enforcement activities with other agencies to ensure the correct message is provided to these people who clearly encourage offending on the ward. The team are also working hard with local businesses to reduce offending and target offenders, with significant arrests being made.
The ward has recently seen a spaight of offences targeting vehicles, in particular Volkswagen Models, whereby certain parts of the vehicle are being stolen whilst the vehicle is parked up. We have also identified a pattern of tradespersons vehicles being targeted for their tools. Proactive operations and high visibility patrols are conducted throughout the wards to target offenders
