Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Prevent serious violence and knife crime
Action taken:
Increase proactive patrols and seek prosecutions for those found to be offending. Conduct youth engagement around knife possession and its consequences. Highlighting weapon amnesty days.

Drug use in and around BNT2 and Oak Square
Action taken:
High visibility and plain clothes police patrols to both deter and arrest those responsible. Ensure that drug referral is offered to all those who we encounter. Ensure that high quality cases are presented to the CPS to achieve the best possible outcomes at court.

Drug use, street drinking and aggressive begging around Max roach Park, St Johns Crescent and Brixton Terrace.
Action taken:
Conduct high visibility and plain clothes patrols in the hotspot areas, utilise temporary CCTV cameras and offer diversion to all we encounter. Improve the usage of community protection warnings and notices.
