Violence Related Priorities
Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)
Working towards a reduction of violence against women girls and youths in Hackney Marshes, Canal Tow Path and Environs

As part of the VAWG initiative, we regularly hold ‘Walk, Talk & Do’ sessions.
The team will:
Conduct Proactive High visibility patrols in the area as well as covert patrols.
Working with hackney council, Canal and River Trust, Parks and open spaces, Street Lightings, Hackney Council CCTV, DAIS and Neighbouring wards.
Distribute crime prevention advice, and leaflets to members of the public, focusing mainly around personal safety when out and about.

Burglary - Across King’s Park ward

The Team will:
- Conduct Hi - Visible street patrols
- Crime prevention Advice to residents Via Met engage / contact sessions
- Joint patrols with Hackney council Enforcement Officers
- Intelligence led arrest enquiries and Police Operations

Generic Bike related ASB
Focusing on reducing Bike ASB on Homerton High Street and working towards a reduction in Bike related ASB across the Ward.
Bike relate ASB on the above locations predominately linked to LIME bike riding on pavement and been left on the pavement

The Team will:
Conduct Proactive High visibility patrols in the area as well as covert patrols and Police operations.
Community Contact Sessions such as ASB Surgeries, bike marking
Working with Hackney Council, Hackney Council CCTV and Neighbouring wards and other partners.
Distribute crime prevention advice/leaflets to members of the public, focusing mainly around Bike related ASB and how to report ASB and bike related ASB
