Priority 1 - Reducing Violence and Anti-Social Behaviour in Parks and Open Spaces (Police Set Violence Priority)

Officers will adopt a problem-oriented policing approach to address violence and anti-social behaviour within parks and open spaces across the ward, with particular focus on Heathfield Gardens, Meon Road Gardens, and Woodlands Park. This initiative will target drug-related violence by tackling the underlying issues of drug use and drug dealing in these locations.

Officers have dedicated a significant amount of time to proactive patrols in key locations, including Heathfields Gardens and Woodlands Park. These patrols have been well received by residents and have contributed to a noticeable improvement in community confidence.

Heathfields Gardens has been a particular focus. Officers worked diligently to proactively identify and target individuals responsible for ongoing antisocial behaviour. As a result, several Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs) were issued. This enforcement activity has had a positive impact and has deterred repeat offenders from returning to the location.

In addition, joint work with Ealing Council led to vegetation being cut back in Heathfields Gardens, opening sightlines and helping to create a safer and more welcoming environment for residents. Following these combined efforts, reports of antisocial behaviour in Heathfields Gardens have reduced significantly.

Work is continuing with Ealing Council regarding Meon Road, with plans under consideration to remove the benches in order to support a long‑term solution to the issues experienced there.

Following the most recent Ward Panel Meeting, this priority will continue to be a focus and will be reviewed again at the next scheduled meeting.

Priority 2 - Tackling Street Drinking, Drug Use, and ASB in The Mount

High-visibility patrols will be conducted in The Mount area, supported by a range of tactical interventions and partnership working. This includes addressing the presence of street drinkers and drug users, and reducing associated anti-social behaviour. A key element of this priority is the protection of women and girls, with targeted action around Morrisons informed by community concerns and collaborative efforts to tackle VAWG.

The Mount, Morrisons Car Park and the surrounding residential streets remain a key focus for the neighbourhood team and the dedicated town centre officer.

With regard to street drinkers, all key individuals have now been identified and are at various stages of enforcement action. Two offenders are currently awaiting court hearings for Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs), which, if granted, will prohibit them from entering the town centre and will carry the risk of imprisonment if breached. Over the past two months, four individuals have been arrested in Morrisons Car Park for possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. Three have since been charged and imprisoned, while one remains on bail pending further enquiries.

We continue to work closely with Morrisons, the Acton BID, Ealing Council and local charities to provide long‑term support and diversion for homeless individuals and to address persistent problem areas in both Morrisons Car Park and The Mount.

An emerging issue in Berrymead Gardens has recently been brought to our attention. Patrols have been increased in the area to identify the individuals responsible, and joint work is underway with our partner agencies to develop a sustainable long‑term solution.

Following the most recent Ward Panel Meeting, this priority will continue to be a focus and will be reviewed again at the next scheduled meeting.

Priority 3 - Addressing ASB, parcel theft, and Drug Activity in South Acton Estate

Police will implement a multi-agency approach to combat open drug use and other forms of anti-social behaviour within communal areas of residential blocks in the South Acton Estate. Police will also combat the emerging issue of parcel thefts from communal areas by identifying key offenders and providing crime prevention advice.

This includes the focused targeting of identified void properties that are contributing to persistent disorder and community harm.

This is a new priority set at the latest January ward panel meeting. Updates on what actions are taken on this priority will be updated shortly.
