Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Robbery/weapon offences on and around Portland Road has been set as a priority for the ward by the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Action taken:
An operation to target known offenders and others is currently being developed by ward officers.

Priority:
Businesses and local residents are concerned about anti social behaviour including street drinking and drug use on the High Street and Station Road.
Action taken:
A PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) is due to be introduced in a large portion of South Norwood which will allow officers and the council to more effectively combat ASB.

Priority:
Local residents are concerned about violence against women and girls on the ward in unlit or 'out the way' areas such as South Norwood Rec. Ground and Heavers Meadow.
Action taken:
A VAWG walk and talk is being planned for women to have a chance to walk with female officers in areas of the ward where they may feel less comfortable on their own.
