Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area (or 'ward'), supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.
You can stay informed by signing up to MetEngage, a free messaging service that keeps you connected to what’s happening in your area. Whether its crime updates, safety advice, or news from your local policing team, you’ll get the information that matters to you when it matters most.

THEFT
Raising awareness and increasing vigilance against Theft from person offences in pubs/cafés and restaurants and open spaces. Theft from retailers will also remain a key focus.
Issued 01 June 2026
We will work closely with local businesses and community partners to reduce retail crime and ensure public safety. Officers will conduct both uniformed and plain-clothes patrols in key areas and maintain regular liaison with local businesses. Crime prevention advice will be provided, alongside proactive engagement to deter and prevent offences.
Our efforts continue to focus on targeting repeat offenders and known hotspots for theft, including distraction thefts. We will provide reassurance and raise public awareness about these types of offences.
We have established regular Business Community meetings, inviting local businesses to share information and connect with us and each other. This initiative provides a dedicated platform for businesses to raise concerns directly with us. It also ensures that our resources are deployed effectively and that crime prevention strategies are well-coordinated.

ASB
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) during school finishing times and addressing reported issues in communal areas, including tower blocks, car parks, canal towpaths, and open spaces.
Issued 01 June 2026
Our regular high-visibility patrols will continue. We continue to work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to reduce this type of offending. Where appropriate, officers will issue Community Protection Notices, Community Protection Warnings, and ASB warnings.
An increase in ASB warnings has already had a positive impact in the affected areas. We will maintain close engagement with residents to tackle these issues.
We successfully obtained a Closure Order at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court for a residential address. This action has resulted in a significant reduction in ASB and related problems in and around this location.

CYCLE SAFETY/ENFORCEMENT
We will enforce regulations on the use of e-scooters and e-bikes on roads and within open spaces in Swiss Cottage and Primrose Hill Park. Our focus also includes addressing cyclists riding on pavements. To promote cycle safety across the ward, enforcement of Automatic Traffic Signal (ATS) violations will remain a key priority.
Issued 01 June 2026
Officers will carry out operations at identified hotspots and engage directly with both cyclists and motorists. We will work closely with our Roads Policing colleagues to address safety concerns related to motorists, e-bikes, and e-scooters.
Individuals using e-bikes or e-scooters on public roads or in public spaces where this is not permitted or operating such items that do not meet legal requirements, risk enforcement action. This may include fines, licence endorsements, prosecution, and the seizure of the item.
Officers conducted a successful Cycle safety enforcement and awareness operation in the vicinity of Gloucester Avenue Primrose and Regent’s Park Road. The operation saw a number of Cyclists receiving FPNs for cycle related offences.
