The NPCC enables independent chief constables and their forces to work together to improve policing for the public. It coordinates the operational response to a range of threats, such as crime, terrorism and national emergencies. Working with the College of Policing, the NPCC implements standards and develop national approaches.

The following role is currently open for recruitment:
Salary: The role will attract a starting salary in the range of £86,030 - £107,538 depending on the strength of job-related skills and knowledge.
Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James' Park underground station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. We encourage applications from candidates living across the UK. Further details on flexible arrangements will be discussed at interview stage.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2028.
The role
The Head of Business Development & Strategy provides strategic direction, national influence and programme ownership for the Roads Policing Innovation Programme (RPIP). They ensure the delivery of national reform, innovation, and measurable impact across roads policing, while leading the development and delivery of a coherent business strategy that drives long-term capability, sustainability and system-wide improvement aligned to government priorities, including securing and sustaining investment and growth of the programme.
Part of the broader head of business strategy and development remit, the postholder also operates as senior responsible owner (SRO) for RPIP, holding end-to-end accountability for programme governance, delivery, benefits realisation and stakeholder assurance. Including oversight of funding, risk, performance and assurance frameworks to ensure effective stewardship of public investment and delivery against ministerial expectations.
