Now open for recently retired constables and sergeants
Our Return Scheme is designed for recently retired Met officers, both uniform and detective, to return to the Met. It’s open to constables and sergeants.
The Met really appreciates the skills and experience that officers who have served London for decades bring. That’s important now more than ever to support our newer officers as they develop into their policing career and to help the Met drive an even better service to the public, building more trust, less crime and high standards.
This scheme allows a police officer to retire from the Met, but to then return as an attested officer after a short break of service, which must be a minimum of at least one calendar month.
