Our Safer Neighbourhoods teams are looking for experienced Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to join our expanding teams across London.
The Met is working hard to restore Londoners’ trust and confidence. We aim to drive more trust, reduce crime, and maintain high standards. You can come and join the hundreds of dedicated, honest, committed and hard-working PCSOs in our team.
Change is happening within the Met. We want people like you to help make a big difference. Come and join us and be part of a ‘New Met for London’.
As a key member of one of our Neighbourhood teams, you will police a ward as part of a team of dedicated officers and PCSOs, delivering on what matters most to the communities you serve.
As a serving PCSO, you do not need to move to London in order to join us and we accept applications from PCSOs from all Home Office forces.
The ideal candidates will be excellent communicators and will be passionate about working with members of the public to make their local communities safer.
Whatever your background, you’ll bring valuable life skills and experience. You'll understand the importance of community engagement and share our values of respect, integrity, empathy, courage, and accountability
Right now, we’re looking for PCSOs for our Safer Neighbourhoods teams all across London. Although we can’t guarantee where you’ll be placed, we’ll try to balance your preference against where the Met needs you the most.
The starting salary is £33,348, which includes allowances totalling £2,841. This role may attract a shift disturbance allowance of between 12.5% and 20%.
The full time contracted hours are 36 hours per week, excluding breaks. Our PCSOs work a shift pattern that includes a combination of morning, daytime, and evening shifts. No night shifts are required and the latest you will finish is at midnight.
