Officer concerned: PC Timothy Robson

Summary

PC Timothy Robson answered the following allegations:

On 10 September 2025, PC Robson attended a sudden death during his capacity as a serving police officer. He subsequently captured a photograph of a heavily decomposed body via his personal mobile phone, without a legitimate policing purpose.

On 8 January 2026 the Forensic laboratory completed an extraction from his personal mobile phone confirming that the image of the deceased individual had been captured.

Seven witness statements from serving officers confirm that he either showed or offered to show the photograph to them.

On 22 April 2026, he provided an MG14 response admitting to his actions

The Officer was in attendance and represented by his Federation Representative.

Decision

The Chair of proceedings, Ma'am Katie Lilburn, found the allegations proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached, namely in respect of:
(i)Discreditable Conduct
(ii) Authority, Respect and Courtesy
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities

PC Robson was dismissed without notice and will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing.
