Summary

PC Jack Sullivan, based at South Area Command Unit, faced allegations that on 15 March 2026, he was on duty in a police vehicle. At approximately 21:36 hours, he collided with a parked Mercedes. PC Sullivan was alleged to be aware that he had done so, and that it had caused extensive damage to the rear of the vehicle.

PC Sullivan was further alleged to have left the scene without reporting the collision or obtaining the details of the owner of the Mercedes. Later he returned to the scene and reported the incident, allegedly knowing these entries were false.

This behaviour is alleged to have breached the following Standards of Professional Behaviour:

• Honesty and Integrity
• Duties and Responsibilities
• Discreditable Conduct

Decision

The Panel, chaired by Commander Wingrove, found that PC Sullivan breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour of 'Honesty & Integrity', 'Duties & Responsibilities' and 'Discreditable Conduct', and this amounted to Gross Misconduct.

PC Sullivan was dismissed without notice and will be placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
