Summary

Former DC Quigley faced the following allegations:

Allegation 1: It was alleged that on 19 February 2024, the officer entered the locker room at Bromley Police Station and stole items from a colleague's locker, namely two packets of crisps and a weapons tube containing approximately £20-£30 in cash and several pin badges. This conduct was alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Honesty and Integrity and Discreditable Conduct.

Allegation 2: It was alleged that on 20 February 2024, the officer was found at his home address in possession of two Metropolitan Police Service Level 2 batons without proper authority or justification. This conduct was alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to 'Discreditable Conduct' and 'Duties and Responsibilities'.

The Panel of the proceedings, determined that Allegation 1 was proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and the former officer would have been dismissed if still serving.

Allegation 2 was proven at the level of Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached. As the officer is no longer serving, no further disciplinary sanction was imposed in respect of this allegation.

Decision

The Panel of the proceedings determined that Allegation 1 was proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and the former officer would have been dismissed if still serving.

Allegation 2 was proven at the level of Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached. As the officer is no longer serving, no further disciplinary sanction was imposed in respect of this allegation.
