Officer concerned: Officer A
Date of hearing: 14 to 18 September 2026
Officer A answered the allegations that on various dates between approximately 2019 and 2021, he failed to safeguard and protect his daughter who was being treated in an abusive manner by her mother.
The officer was present and represented by his Federation Representative.
The panel, chaired by former Commander Andy Brittain, found the allegations proven, in that Officer A had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of 'Discreditable Conduct' to the level of Gross Misconduct.
The panel concluded that the only appropriate sanction in this case was dismissal without notice.
Officer A will be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing.
