Officer concerned: Police Sergeant X
Dates of hearing: 9 to 13 March 2026
It was alleged that between around April 2023 to October 2023, PS X entered into a sexual relationship with a more junior Police Officer, PC A, failed to disclose this relationship to line management and used the power imbalance between their ranks to improperly initiate and/or control and/or maintain a sexual relationship with PC A.
It was further alleged that during this time PS X attended PC A’s home address without invitation and upon PC A making it clear communication with PS X was unwanted, PS X continued to contact PC A.
The panel, chaired by Commander Andy Brittain, found two out of the five allegations proven at a level of Gross Misconduct.
Officer X received a Final Written Warning for a period of 2 years.
