Officer concerned: PC Omar Campedelli
Dates of hearing: 3 June 2026
On 1 December 2025, whilst on duty in full uniform conducting a hospital guard, PC Campedelli used excessive and unjustified force on a male detainee, who had been detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Furthermore, PC Campedelli failed to report or record the slap to the detainee when he completed a use of force form.
PC Campedelli has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:

PC Campedelli was in attendance for these proceedings. He was not represented at the hearing however he had been given this opportunity.
The Chair, Commander Trevers, found the allegations proven and that PC Campedelli had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour at the level of Gross Misconduct.
PC Campedelli was dismissed without notice and will be placed on the College of Policing barred list.
