Summary

Former DCI Christopher Soole answered the following allegations:

It is alleged that between 10 May 2025 and 12 November 2025, Former DCI Soole used a Metropolitan Police Service-issued mobile telephone to send and receive personal, intimate and sexually explicit messages without a policing purpose and contrary to MPS ICT policy.

It is further alleged that, during the same period, Former DCI Soole used a Metropolitan Police Service-issued mobile telephone to arrange and facilitate meetings of an intimate nature within police buildings for purposes unconnected with policing duties.

Decision

The Chair of the proceedings, Ms Katie Lilburn, determined that the allegations were proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached, namely in respect of Discreditable Conduct, and Duties and Responsibilities.

As a result, Former DCI Christopher Soole would have been dismissed without notice and will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing.
