Officer concerned: DC James Yates
Dates of hearing: 3 July 2026
Between October 2025 and January 2026, DC Yates failed to declare a business interest, despite being required to do so, and having been reminded by the Metropolitan Police Service.
The Chair of the proceedings, Commander Andy Brittain, determined that the allegations were proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached, namely in respect of Honesty and Integrity (Integrity only), and Orders and Instructions.
As a result, DC James Yates was dismissed without notice and will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing.
