Summary

DC Markey answered the following allegation:

On 19 May 2026, at Stevenage Magistrates' Court, you were found guilty of a criminal offence, namely assault by beating, contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988. You were ordered to pay costs of £300 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Decision

The Chair of the proceedings, Commander Colin Wingrove, determined that the allegations were proven at the level of Gross Misconduct and that the Standards of Professional Behaviour had been breached, namely in respect of Discreditable Conduct.

As a result, DC Markey was dismissed without notice and will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing.
