Officer concerned: PC Jonathan Was
Dates of hearing: 23 and 25 March 2026
On 18 July 2024, it was alleged that PC Was accessed the custody record and /or custody image of Officer A following Officer A's arrest on 17 July 2024 without a proper policing purpose, and/or disclosed sensitive information from Officer A's custody record to colleagues without a proper policing purpose.
It was alleged PC Was had breached Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to 'Discreditable Conduct', 'Confidentiality' and 'Orders & Instructions' amounting to gross misconduct.
The panel, chaired by Commander Andy Brittian, found the allegations proven having heard evidence over the course of the hearing. PC Was was dismissed without notice.
