Officer concerned: Former PC Imran Patel
Dates of hearing: 23 to 24 March 2026
Former PC Imran Patel answered allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
It was alleged that on 19 August 2021, FPC Patel committed fraud by abusing his position as an officer to take monies and/or a driving licence from a member of public.
It was further alleged that on 16 March 2022, a stab vest was found in FPC Patel's residence without any lawful reason and/or reasonable excuse.
Lastly, it was alleged that on 5 May 2022, whilst on duty, FPC Patel accessed adult websites and used the services of sex workers.
FPC Patel did not attend the hearing and his Federation Representative, being without instructions, had no choice but to withdraw from acting.
The evidence of the Appropriate Authority was therefore unchallenged. There was sufficient evidence available for the Panel to determine each of the allegations.
All allegations were found proven to the level of gross misconduct. Both level of culpability and harm were assessed as high.
If the officer was still employed by MPS, he would have been dismissed.
