Name of the officer concerned: PS Ahmet Retvan
Date: 18 September 2026
Time: 9am
Location: DPS Hearing Suite, Patrick Dunne House, Chalk Pit Lane, Sutton. SM1 4RD.
Police Sergeant Ahmet Retvan, based within North Area Command Unit, will answer allegations that their conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
PS Retvan’s Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) issued mobile device was subject to Lawful Business Monitoring, and it was identified that on 19 February 2026 he used his personal mobile telephone to display an image which was intimate and sexual in nature, which he then photographed and saved onto his MPS‑issued work device, whilst on duty.
It was also identified that on 13 May 2025, PS Retvan took a screenshot of a ‘Whatsapp’ conversation with a female colleague which was personal in nature and did not have a policing purpose.
As a result of that stated herein, if proven, PS Retvan’s conduct individually or cumulatively amounts to gross misconduct, and his dismissal may be justified.
The identity of victims and witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
If you wish to apply to attend the hearing you must book no later than 1pm the previous working day. This is to allow for sufficient time to process the application. Any requests received after this time will be unable to be processed in time for the hearing and therefore will be rejected.
