It is alleged on 11 May 2023 PC Davinder Grewal made a fraudulent insurance claim on items that he reported stolen from his home address.
It is alleged between 29 May 2023 and 1 June 2023, PC Grewal communicated with his line manager regarding leave said to be required for purposes of accompanying his mother to India for an emergency medical procedure. It is further alleged that PC Grewal had in fact flown to Lanzarote for a week with his partner and child on 2 June 2023 instead.
It is alleged on 23 June 2023, during a routine attendance for a report of drunk and disorderly behaviour, PC Grewal spat at a member of the public, after he had been detained by police.
Through the conduct set out in the three seperate allegations, it is alleged PC Grewal breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Authority, Respect and Courtesy, Honesty and Integrity, and Discreditable Conduct.
The matters set out above (individually and / or collectively) if proven, are said to amount to gross misconduct, in that they are so serious as to justify dismissal.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
