PC Jahmel Murray will answer allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
* Authority, Respect and Courtesy;
* Discreditable Conduct;
* Equality and Diversity; and
* Honesty and Integrity (Integrity only).
This conduct matter is composed of five allegations:
1. It is alleged that PC Murray made inappropriate and sexualised comments towards female colleagues on at least eight separate occasions;
2. It is alleged that PC Murray made unwanted physical contact with a female colleague;
3. It is alleged that PC Murray expressed misogynistic attitudes and endorsed misogynistic material on at least three separate occasions;
4. It is alleged that on 2 July 2024, whilst on a tour of duty, PC Murray behaved inappropriately by returning to his home address to apply aftershave and attended an arrest enquiry where he flirted with a female member of the public; and
5. It is alleged that PC Murray made inappropriate and/or sexualised comments whilst at work on at least five separate occasions.
The matter and conduct set out above amount to gross misconduct, namely a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour that, if proved, are so serious as to justify dismissal.
If you wish to apply to attend the hearing you must book no later than 1pm the previous working day. This is to allow for sufficient time to process the application. Any requests received after this time will be unable to be processed in time for the hearing and therefore will be rejected.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
