Name of the officer concerned: PC Lucy Cox
Date: 09 October 2026
Time: 9am
Location: Palestra House, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ
PC Lucy Cox, based within North East Command Unit, will answer allegations that their conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
PC Cox’s MPS issued device was subject to a routine Lawful Business Monitoring, and it identified a number of messages that were in breach of MPS policies. It is suspected that between May and September 2025, PC Cox used the MPS-issued device for personal communications with individuals both within and outside the organisation where there was no evident policing-related purpose. These communications are understood to have included messages exchanged with a family member, as well as with a member of the public with whom she was reportedly involved in a personal relationship.
As a result of that stated herein, if proven, PC Cox’s conduct individually or cumulatively amounts to gross misconduct, and her dismissal may be justified.
