This is a conduct matter concerning Former Inspector Michael Richards, who on 10 August 2026, was convicted of one count of Sexual Assault, contrary to section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The offence was committed during a colleague's leaving event being held at a Public House. During the event Former Inspector Richards intentionally touched the buttocks of a female complainant without their consent.

It is alleged that this conduct, if proven, individually and/or cumulatively amounts to gross misconduct and is so serious as to justify dismissal.
