Name of the officer concerned: PC Akbar Arabi
Date: 24 July 2026
Time: 9am
Location: DPS Hearing Suite, Palestra House, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ
Police Constable Akbar Arabi, based within West Area Command Unit, will answer allegations that their conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
On 23rd August 2025 in the early hours, officers observed a BMW being driven dangerously on Conway Street, including wheel spinning, an illegal U-turn, and weaving at speed. PC Arabi was identified as the driver, admitted trying to "give a thrill" to a friend.
PC Arabi failed to produce a driving licence, ID, or insurance and was given seven days to do so. PC Arabi later produced a Hyundai lease agreement, which did not show valid insurance to drive other vehicles.
