Former PC Justin Tanija was convicted of one count of sexual assault at Harrow Crown Court on 4 June 2026. The offence occurred during a PPST training session, during which he inappropriately touched a female.
Former PC Tanija resigned from the Metropolitan Police Service on 20 June 2023.
The former officer pleaded not guilty but was convicted by a unanimous jury and is due to be sentenced on 3 July 2026 at Harrow Crown Court.
Former PC Justin Tanija of North West Command Unit will answer allegations that her conduct amounts to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:
It is alleged that this conduct, if proven, individually and/or cumulatively amounts to gross misconduct and therefore should be dismissed.
The identity of victims and witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
