PC Faitha Sunday will answer allegations that his conduct amounts to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:

On 13 November 2024, PC Faitha Sunday was on duty in Lewisham Town Centre when she had cause to attend to a young member of the public, Child A, who was having a panic attack. Whilst trying to reassure and calm Child A, PC Sunday rubbed Child A's thigh and upper leg multiple times, on occasion making inappropriate contact over the clothing of Child A.
In neglecting to note where she was placing her hands, PC Sunday failed to act with care and diligence towards a vulnerable child. Her actions are considered to have been unnecessary, disproportionate and careless. A bystander would view such physical contact, even if reckless, as unacceptable. The contact had the clear potential to discredit the police service and undermine public confidence in it.
The matters set out above (individually and / or collectively) if proven, are said to amount to gross misconduct, in that they are so serious as to justify dismissal.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
