Arrests by the MPS of diplomats and their relatives from 2022 to 2025

I note you seek access to the following information:

1. 1. Please can you tell me how many diplomats and relatives with diplomatic status in the U.K. have been arrested by the Met between 1 November 2022 and 1 November 2025.
2. I would like to know
   a) what country they work for or are connected to, diplomatically, and
   b) what was the reason for their arrest.
3. I would also like to know if
   a) charges were brought, or if it known
   b) whether they used their diplomatic immunity to end proceedings against them.
   Please may I have this information in a spreadsheet, such as a csv file.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose some of the requested information. Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) by virtue of the following exemptions:

Section 27(1)(a)(c)(d) – International Relations
Section 30(1)(a) – Investigations and Proceedings conducted by Public Authorities
Section 40(2)(3) - Personal Information.

Please see the below excel spreadsheet covering the period 01/11/2022 – 01/11/2025, which details the following data:

• The total number of arrests
• Reason for arrest
• The total number charged
• The total number of times diplomatic immunity was used
