I note you seek access to the following information:

Since the introduction of the policy to declare the association with freemasonry, How many Officers have declared there association.

At each rank how many officers have declared the association PC, SGT, INSP, CH.INSP, SUPT, CH.SUPT, CMDR, DAC, AC, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose some of the requested information. Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).

• Section 40(2) &(3A)(a) - Personal Information

Population: Police officers only (Special Constables excluded)
Basis: Substantive rank (acting up counted at substantive)
Timeframes: 11/12/2025 → 29/01/2026 (extraction date)
Disclosure control: For small populations (Chief Inspector and Superintendent), exact figures are withheld under s40(2) and replaced with “<10” to reduce the risk of identifying individuals. Chief Superintendent and above are fully withheld under s40(2).

Notes: “(incl. Detective)” means detective equivalents are counted at their substantive rank.
