Promotion prospects are available and equal for all officers that are eligible. Searches found no recorded information specifically relating to the career prospects of males in the Inspector to Chief Inspector or Chief Inspector to Superintendent process in the years requested (or for any other demographic).
The data relating to the Inspector to Chief Inspector or Chief Inspector to Superintendent process for the years 2020-2024 has been disclosed below. This data shows you the number of individuals eligible through to the number who
passed the assessment centre. Please noted that there have been no corporate police promotion processes for these ranks delivered in 2025 therefore there is no 2025 data.
Application rates from officers eligible to apply have been relatively consistent between female and male officers. The data shows that higher success rates have
been associated with female candidates in both processes.
