I note you seek access to the following information:

I seek the following information for your police force, broken down by calendar year from 2019 to the most recent full year available, and for each year by officer rank from Police Constable to Inspector inclusive:

1. The number of applications made by officers for second employment or any similar employment arrangements, as defined under your force's business interest or secondary employment policies.
2. The number of such applications that were approved.
3. The number of such applications that were not approved.

If it is helpful for context, I am requesting this information from all police forces in England and Wales, and I am seeking comparative data.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if any aspect of the request requires clarification. In particular, should you believe that Section 12 of the Act applies to my request, please provide the data for as many years as you can, for example the last three full calendar years.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

However please note the following caveats with this data prior to reading

• There are a number of ‘not clear’ statuses such as Approved New Application and New. These appear to count as approved records so have been taken in. Any that did not appear as an approved record was moved elsewhere.
• Withdrawn are Business Interest records that were submitted but at a later date withdrawn. These have been counted separately
• Reviewed is a status for records that have been reviewed by a manager. These SHOULD then either become Approved or Rejected but the system is still counting them as reviewed.
• No Status have no status in the system.
