I note you seek access to the following information:

I am writing to request data on car break-ins and thefts reported to your police force for Christmas Eve (24 December) and Christmas Day (25 December) over the past 5 years or what is available if less.

I would appreciate the following details for each of the two dates:

1. The total number of reported car break-ins.
2. The total number of reported car thefts.
3. Breakdown of incidents by location (e.g., city/town or postcode area, if available).
4. Any year-on-year trends or patterns identified for these incidents over the specified period.

Clarification -
However, I would like to correct this for better clarification to:
I am writing to request data on car break-ins and theft from vehicles reported to your police force for Christmas Eve (24 December) and Christmas Day (25 December) over the past 5 years e.g 2023-2019.

1. The total number of reported car break-ins.
2. The total number of reported theft from vehicles
3. Breakdown of incidents by location (e.g., city/town or postcode area, if available)

On 17/12/24 I advised that our analysts have reviewed your request and have queried what is meant for Question One (1) and require further clarification before they can process your request. We asked if you are referring to criminal damage to vehicles/cars or are you asking specifically about theft from cars as opposed to theft from all vehicles under Question Two (2).

On 17/12/24 you advised Question One (1) is probably the same as Question Two (2). I require information on theft from vehicles – cars included.
