I note you seek access to the following information:

How many officers of any rank have retired from your force and then returned to work as officers at your force within three months.

I am looking for you to include the number of officers returning on or later than 01 January 2019.

This should involve returning to the same or any different rank

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

There were 447 police Officers, who left the MPS and re-joined the MPS within 3 months of leaving.

Caveat:
To obtain this information, first names, last names and dates of birth were matched with our leavers and joiners’ data.

It should be noted that some police officers may have changed their name so will not have been captured in the data, therefore, the above figure may not be a wholly accurate representation as we can only provide what is reported on our HR system.
